Village in the Slobodzeyskiy region of Transnistria Moldavian republic, the absolute majority of population of which compose Bulgarians. It is located between Tiraspol and Bendery. Through the village passes the trolley-bus line of route “Tiraspol-Bendery” and the route taxi of № 20 “Tiraspol-Bendery”. The village of Parkani is shown on General Panin's map with the assault of Benderskoy fortress in 1770, it was located on the border of the Russian Empire until 1812, when Bessarabia became part of Russia. From 1918 to 1940, when Rumanians annexed Bessarabia, frontier was set again on the Dniester. Since 1940 into the composition MASSR (capital- Tiraspol) entered the part of Bessarabia, in consequence of which were converted from MASSR to MSSR (Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic) and the capital they transferred to Kishinev. In the village of Parkani lives 10,5 thousand people, from whom of about 80% - Bulgarians. In 1992 precisely in Parkani took place the first congress of the Pridnestrovskikh deputies of all levels. Congress recognized as expedient the formation of the Transnistria Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in the composition then even more Moldavian Soviet socialist republic. Temple celebration of Parkani is on November 21.
