Bernasconi is a town on the south-east of the Provincia de La Pampa, the main town of Hucal department.

Founded in 1888 by Alfonso Bernasconi, in 1895 had a population of over 800 rural and just under 300 in the urban center.

The influx of immigration in 1909 was a special feature, when a Jewish colony was established contributing that year with nearly fourteen hundred people.

The whole rural area on that zone of ​​La Pampa, but especially that of Bernasconi, received Jewish legions formed under the influence of Baron Maurice de Hirsch, whose philanthropic organization, in 1905 populated the south of Rolon and in 1909, founded Colonia Leven close to Bernasconi, divided the land for the farmers and gravitated heavily on the agrarian life.
